Exploring Bali, Nusa Penida & Lombok Dive Spots With Private Boat Charter

Boat Charter Bali Exploring Nusa Penida Dive Spots

Private boat charter Bali offering experienced scuba divers and a diverse range of dive locations. We believe you will want to return again and again to Bali. The Mola Mola Season runs from July to October, although Manta Rays can be spotted in Bali all year. Nusa Lembongan/Nusa Penida is well-known for its world-class diving. Crystal Bay, Manta Point, Mangrove, and Toyapakeh are among the more than 20 dive sites located surrounding the island.

Manta Point

At Manta Point, marvel as the beautiful manta rays glides over the cleaning stations. Keep your distance and these curious creatures will continue to circle, awestruck by their elegance and beauty in the water.

Manta Point is located on the south west corner of Nusa Penida and is the island’s most remote diving spot. It’s a trek well worth taking because the coastline around Nusa Penida is rugged, unspoiled, and breathtaking.

Manta rays are incredible creatures that live in Bali all year. There’s a good possibility you’ll see them when diving. Some of the mantas here have wingspans of almost three meters. They all have a distinctive black, white, or grey pattern on their undersides that makes them easy to identify.

Divers may also come across an octopus, bamboo sharks, or a surprise sighting of Mola Mola on the large limestone rocks that are a highlight of this dive site.

Crystal Bay

This dive site is popular all year, but notably during Mola Mola season, thanks to its beautiful corals and crystal blue waters.

Drop to the sandy bottom and then make your way to the corner, where larger fish and Mola Mola can be found during the season.

Toyapakeh

Private boat charter Bali will bring you to Toyapakeh. A favorite dive spot for many of our dive guides due to the number of corals and marine life, as well as the excellent visibility.

The dive location is protected from the powerful currents that flow between Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan in the deep strait between the two islands, with a gradual drift to the north. However, because currents can change fast, keep close to our knowledgeable local dive instructors to ensure an enjoyable and safe dive.

Gamat Bay

With an impressive reef wall that drops away at the bay’s edge, diving at Gamat Bay is exciting and rewarding. Divers enjoy the variety of marine species that may be found within the reef’s cracks and crannies, including the occasional turtle.

Look out into the blue because we frequently spot larger pelagics like sharks, rays, and Mola Mola (in Sunfish season).

As you return up the slope, you’ll notice beautiful table corals and coral bommies where many fish will be hiding, making for a terrific photo opportunity.

The major part of the bay is very shallow, making it an ideal spot for a safety stop at the end of a dive among some of Nusa Penida’s clearest waters and most abundant hard and soft corals.

Blue Corner

A thrilling journey through various terraces teeming with aquatic life, including eagle rays, marble rays, and (in season) the fabled sunfish. When conditions permit, Blue Corner has to be one of my favorite dives, albeit it is not usually diveable due to strong currents. We can give you advice on the spot.

This site is located off the northern edge of Nusa Lembongan and consists of a sloping reef with depths ranging from twelve meters to well over thirty meters. The site is known for its powerful currents, which make for an interesting dive, and the watercolor here has to be the deepest blue I’ve ever seen, earning it the name ‘Blue Corner.’

The Cost for Komodo Diving Liveaboard vs Resort Diving

There are a lot of things to consider and weigh down when it comes to choosing whether you’d like to go on a Komodo diving cruise or a dive resort instead. So what are the things you should take note of when deciding whether to go on a Komodo diving cruise or a resort diving?

Komodo diving liveaboard pros

When diving is your trip’s primary focus, then a Komodo diving liveaboard will serve best that purpose. A diving cruise will let you do all of the diving you want without restrictions of distance to the diving spots.

Vacationing on a Komodo diving live onboard will let you reach diving spots and even a whole set of destinations you would otherwise not be able to reach on a day trip. Divers whose priority is to get as much diving as possible during their trip should seriously consider going on a diving cruise as opposed to staying on a resort dive.

Resort diving pros compared to Komodo diving liveaboard

Resort diving will let you enjoy your vacation at your very own pace. Not up to diving every single day during your vacation? Then resort diving should be your choice. If you’d like to explore more of your destination during your trip, such as visiting the fish markets, then you won’t be able to do it on a cruise.

Cost associated with Komodo cruise

Sure, paying for a cruise seemed so expensive at first glance. Some cruises go to thousands of dollars per night. But if cost is truly your concern, then you’ll be research savvy and look for the many options of phinisi (authentic Indonesian sailing vessel) Komodo yacht charter instead of the huge cruise ships.

While the initial price tag may seem expensive to you, consider that Komodo diving liveaboard includes all of these things:

  • In a dive cruise, a dive master is always present and will guide you throughout the sailing trip. They’ll show you the best spots and the highlight of each dive site.
  • Everything is included. You get your food onboard, no need to think of budgeting for food. This includes snacks and sometimes even a few selections of alcoholic beverages.
  • Staff are all ready to assist you. Need help with putting on all of your equipment? They’re here to help.
  • Some luxury liveaboard Komodo had even included the plane tickets to and from, as well as any type of transportation you may require from the airport to your hotel and to your embarkation place.

For many people whose first priority is a getting as much as diving possible, going on a Komodo diving cruise actually proves to be more of a value for money for them.

You’ll have to pay for each dive. This could easily add up over time. Not to mention, you wouldn’t be able to reach all of the diving spots, unlike when you’re on a boat full-time. But on the flip side, if you don’t feel like diving on a particular day, you wouldn’t have to get charged. When you don’t dive on a boat when everyone else does, you’ll just feel left out and even make you feel loose out on a portion of what you paid for.
