Tips to be smart budget travelers

Traveling with limited budget is not that bad. In fact, it gives you reassurance that you can still earn happiness from travelling without wasting money you have earned so hard. Here are smart strategies to make you stay happy and comfortable even with limited budget:

  • If you are going to have a road trip, fuel is your main focus when it comes to budget. The fuel cost a lot especially when your road trip takes a long route. The sneaky way to save on petrol is by using traffic apps to find less congested routes. You can also travel in group so that you can split the bill for the fuel. Besides, it is more fun to have a road trip with others instead of driving alone. Next, say no to speeding when you are driving for a road trip. It will only use way more fuel. Not to mention that it is important to check your car before your road trip to stay safe and avoid unnecessary expenses when you need to fix it in the middle of the road.
  • If you choose air travel, it is recommended to not book tight connecting flights. With a tight flight, you only have less than an hour to go for the next flight. This higher the chance of you missing your flight. It is definitely not worth it even if you can save some bucks from booking tight flights. If you miss your next flight, it will only cost you more.
  • You need to plan for your transport ahead before your D-day. Some budget travelers opt for public transport like bus. It is a great choice if the bus takes you to your departure or stay point directly. However, it won’t worth few bucks if you still have to carry your bags or suitcases. Carrying around your luggage through public transport will be painful. It is more recommended to take public transport once you have safely kept your belongings in your hotel room. You can wander around the town and some tourist attractions on foot or by public transport to save you from unnecessary expense to pay for taxi. Remember that being smart budget traveler won’ mean you neglect your convenience just to save a few bucks.
